Freewing Seagull 4-in-1 Prop and EDF 1400mm (55″) Wingspan – PNP
Freewing Seagull 4 Planes In One: Interchangeable EDF or Prop and V-Tail or T-Tail RC Glider, Receiver Ready
The Freewing Seagull is one of the most powerful, best looking, and most fun of the “surfing” type of powered large wingspan planes we’ve flown. There are two motors and two tails included. You have the ability to make 4 different planes; an EDF T-tail, an EDF-V-tail, a pusher prop T-tail, or a pusher prop V-tail. If you use the V-tail format, you do need a computer radio with V-tail mixing. The Freewing Seagull is quick for this type of plane. It has no problems performing loops, rolls, or inverted flight and is is very stable in the air with very good flight characteristics.
While not a pure glider, it is possible to catch a thermal with the Seagull. We recommend beginners use the pusher prop and graduate to the EDF. The pilots at Motion RC were split about 50/50 on EDF vs pusher prop preference. The Seagull uses a standard 3S 2200mAh LiPo. 25C is adequate for both configurations though we recommend a 30C LiPo. We find it takes 5 minutes or less to swap from T-Tail to V-tail and another couple minutes to change the radio programming. Changing from the Pusher Prop to the EDF can also be accomplished in about the same amount of time.
Many of the Motion RC guys made comments about how this plane is a bit less susceptible to wind than other planes of similar format. We had pilots of all different skill levels flying the pusher prop configuration successfully while the EDF configuration was reserved for the intermediate or advanced pilots. The Seagull is a belly lander which makes landing the Seagull extremely simple.
